GSA is in the early stages of negotiations with government agencies to move several IT Government Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs) under its management. This move aligns with a broader push to centralize federal procurement supported under Executive Order (EO) 14240 “Eliminating Waste and Saving Taxpayer Dollars by Consolidating Procurement”. The EO calls for the consolidation of federal procurement of goods and services within GSA with the goal of “eliminating waste and duplication” within the federal government.

While no final decisions have been publicized, GSA's Senior Procurement Executive Jeffrey Koses stated that any transitions would be carefully coordinated to ensure continuity for industry partners and federal customers. Mr. Koses emphasized GSA's commitment to supporting the administration’s priorities by streamlining and modernizing the federal acquisition landscape, with a shared goal of reducing duplication and improving overall efficiency.
