Public Sector Business Development Representative Team Lead - Inside

Position Description:

The Public Sector Business Development Team Lead plays a critical role in identifying, developing, and qualifying leads to help drive the growth of technology companies’ public sector business. This individual is responsible for leading a variety of business development campaigns and relationship management and development to grow our vendor and partner business aligned to annual plans and sales goals. This is a high-visibility position that requires daily interaction with company executives, customers, and industry contacts.

This individual will perform the following tasks - The Business Development Team Lead will build and lead a world-class public sector business development team. The Business Development Team Lead is responsible for leading the BDR function to accelerate the execution of demand generation value services and support the BDR teams’ success in identifying, developing, and qualifying leads to help drive growth for Four Inc.’s business:

  • Develop and execute business plans for BDR function in alignment to Four Inc.’s company objectives
  • Create and execute strategy for outbound demand generation activities in alignment with the needs of technology companies
  • Implement sales prospecting processes and drive demand generation campaign development and execution
  • Review and approve leads
  • Optimize BDR utilization and determine workload balances to maximize performance
  • Motivate, coach and develop Four Inc. BDRs to achieve KPI results and business objectives
  • Conduct individual performance meetings on a minimum of a monthly basis with all direct reports
  • Report value and results to Four Inc. sales leadership and technology companies
  • Partner with Sales leadership to enhance activity with technology companies and channel partners
  • Develop BDR talent pipeline to support BDR career path progression
  • Create a competitive, energetic, and engaged culture to nurture a highly productive team
  • Represent and message Four Inc. core value services to all external and internal constituents
  • Execute sales activities as needed to sustain performance of team
  • Prospect, call, set up and confirm meetings between technology companies and government customers
  • Document all calls and other sales activities and customer/technology company interaction in SugarCRM, and create and link to appropriate opportunities in the system
  • Establish and maintain ongoing business relationships with technology company reps, channel partner reps, and government customers to grow Four Inc. contact database and overall public sector network
  • Collaborate with Marketing to strategically plan targeted outbound demand generation campaigns
  • Meet and exceed established performance goals
  • Other duties as assigned to meet company objectives

Daily Work Activities:

  • Establish daily objectives for KPI activity attainment
  • Track, measure, and communicate progress of business development activities
  • Coach and develop BDRs to maximize team performance and effectiveness
  • Review and analyze reports from SugarCRM and other FOUR INC systems
  • Manage and/or resolve business problems/escalations
  • Representing Four Inc. core value services in Vendor, Partner, and Customer meetings
  • Conduct lead development calls
  • Proactively pursue knowledge of relevant products and public sector markets

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in business or relevant subject
  • 5-7 years of sales or demand generation, 3-5 years team leadership experience
  • Public sector technology sales and management experience
  • Experience selling technology products or services
  • Experience leading outbound demand generation function
  • Experience building and executing targeted campaigns
  • Experience working cross-functionally and collaboratively to deliver business results
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales activity and financial metrics
  • Experience managing CRM utilization
  • Experience in high energy, high volume outbound calling role
  • Ability to work independently, with limited supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Analytical/critical thinking skills
